Downtown Marimba

G and the marimba band played downtown from noon to 1:00 today. It was a lot of fun.

G rode in the front (and made sure the music volume stayed on LOUD) and these two danced and sang in the backseat.

Also car dancing...

Aw, Becca hearts Gillian.

Dude on a modified Segway. He didn't know his mommy was in my car.

Dude in a suit. Click on the photograph to see it larger. I'm pretty sure that is the same suit my dad wore when he married my mom.

The band. G is in the blue sweatshirt.

People were dancing and taking photos and videos.

Next week they will be playing at the Farmer's Market. I'll try to get some video.

Misc.

Hats

All these hats were packed away in a box for many years. They all belonged to my grandma, grandpa, and great-grandma. My parents recently gave them to me. Yeah, they will get dusty now and won't be protected as well, but what's the point in leaving them hidden in a box?

G: Who wore the flower hat?
Me: My grandpa.
G: Really?
Me: Yes.
G: That is so cool!

Neither one of these girls have eaten meat their entire lives (except for one unfortunate bite into a burrito once).

That's my girl!

Miss G had a very busy weekend. Thursday and Friday night she had her play performance. She had lots of parts in the play and even had some solo singing bits. What a brave girl! She was great!

After the play her science teacher from last year said to me, "You know, I really like G. She's really unique and sure of herself." I told him thank you and that was very nice to hear. Then we both laughed at ourselves and said that we were the complete opposite when we were her age.

Her dance competition was on Saturday. Her team are the girls at the top of the bleachers in the blue T-shirts.

Dancing

After the competition they had a drill down. This is where G always shines. She competed against more than 200 kids, and she won!!!
The top 10:

(She doesn't usually wear make-up. It was for competition and the entire team wears it.)

R and A were there too...

We are all very proud of her!
